Participants gain practical experience in business communication, workplace professionalism, customer service, conflict resolution, resume development, interview preparation, and effective online job searching. The program also offers foundational computer training, including keyboard and mouse skills, internet navigation, and instruction in Microsoft Office 365 applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel. These hands-on courses are designed to increase confidence, improve employability, and help individuals succeed in both personal and professional environments.

Through our Financial Literacy Series, STAR  equips individuals with the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions and build a stronger future. Participants explore essential topics including budgeting, managing debit and credit cards, understanding debt, fraud and scam prevention, investing fundamentals, retirement planning, and estate planning. Interactive experiences such as our “Paycheck to Purpose” budget simulation provide real-world financial decision-making practice, while sessions on investment strategies and common financial pitfalls help participants create long-term wealth-building habits. This series is designed to empower individuals and families with practical tools for financial stability, independence, and success.

Through its Career Development program, STAR  helps individuals build the professional skills and confidence needed to succeed in the workforce and advance their careers. Participants strengthen communication and presentation abilities, develop leadership and confidence-building skills, and gain practical job readiness experience through resume creation, mock interviews, thank you note writing, and online job search training. The program also includes instruction in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with financial literacy topics such as budgeting fundamentals. These hands-on learning opportunities are designed to prepare participants for employment, career growth, and long-term personal success.
